§ Mr. ClappisonThe Department of the Environment does not hold detailed information on buildings in London available for development. A central register of unused and underused public land was maintained in the Department from 1981 onwards in accordance with part X of the Local Government Planning and Land Act 1980. In 1989 this responsibility was transferred to local authorities.
