§ Mr. SoamesExercise Brilliant Foil was sponsored by Commander Air Forces North West Europe. It was a large-scale, multinational exercise, involving non-UK based foreign aircraft, designed to maintain the operational capabilities of the United Kingdom's air defence forces. It also provided valuable training for NATO offensive forces.
