HC Deb 25 October 1995 vol 264 c718W
Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what is the current estimate he has made of the daily number of vehicles which use the Doncaster A(1)M bypass in each direction; and what were the comparable figures for(a) five years and (b) 10 years ago. [39028]

Mr. Watts

This is an operational matter for the Highways Agency. I have asked the chief executive to write to the hon. Member.

Letter from Lawrie Haynes to Mr. Martin Redmond, dated 25 October 1995: As you know, the Minister for Railways and Roads, Mr. John Watts, has asked me to write in reply to your Parliamentary Question asking what is the current estimate of the daily number of vehicles using the A 1(M) Doncaster Bypass in each direction and what were the comparable figures 5 and 10 years ago. The provisional estimate for 1995 is 26,600 northbound and 27,000 southbound. The corresponding figures for 1990 were 22,800 northbound and 25,400 southbound. Estimates for 1985 are on a slightly different basis but showed 17,300 vehicles per day travelling northbound and 17,500 southbound.
