To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what plans has he for allowing the use of MoD airfields to export livestock from the United Kingdom or for the sale of MoD airfields to exporters of livestock; and if he will make a statement on this point. [38704]

Mr. Soames

We have no plans to allow the use of operational MoD airfields for the export of livestock from the United Kingdom. I am not aware of any specific offer from companies to purchase any redundant airfield for this purpose at this time.
