§ Mr. SproatEnglish Heritage does not categorise its grants according to the causes which have necessitated structural repairs. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a breakdown of English Heritage's grant expenditure for work resulting from atmospheric pollution to churches. During 1994–95, English Heritage offered £14 million in grants for repairs to historic churches.
