§ Mr. HanleyThe latest figures available show that in financial year 1994–95 total UK bilateral aid to Sri Lanka was £11.48 million. Of that, £1.16 million was financial—capital—aid, £0.52 million was emergency aid, and £0.75 million was provided for relief and rehabilitation programmes, including a small amount for food and medical supplies, which benefited families affected by conflict. The remainder was spent on technical co-operation, aid and trade provision and Commonwealth Development Corporation investments.
