§ Mr. MacleanThe information provided by Her Majesty's inspectorate of constabulary shows that there were 17,950 assaults on officers during 1993, the latest year for which figures are currently available. The corresponding figure for 1992 was 18,108. Figures for the financial year 1994–95 are expected to be published later this month.
