To ask the Deputy Prime Minister (1) what plans he has to market test the civil service pension scheme; and if he will make a statement; [37296]

(2) what provision has been made for in-house bids from civil servants to administer the civil service pension scheme; and if he will make a statement. [37295]

Mr. Horam

An order will be laid, under the Deregulation and Contracting Out Act 1994, in the next parliamentary Session to enable Departments to market test administration of the civil service pension scheme. I intend to make a further statement on the matter at that stage.
