The Secretary of State for Transport has asked me to reply to your recent Parliamentary Question as the question deals with an operational matter, for which I have responsibility as Chief Executive.Information from the EC Community Information System 1994 is in the table attached. The EC System does not distinguish between vessels which are purpose-built and solely dedicated for at-sea recovery or dispersal of pollution, and those vessels which are equipped and available for such duties but which may have other roles.82W
