16. Mr. Timms

To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage if she will implement the recommendations of the Rowntree report on "The Impact of the National Lottery". [35913]

Mrs. Virginia Bottomley

The Rowntree report was one contribution to a lively debate. The Government are keeping all aspects of the national lottery under review.

21. Mr. Pike

To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage what percentage of sales of national lottery tickets is made in the north-west; and what percentage of the distributed proceeds to date has been made in the north-west. [35919]

Mrs. Bottomley

A report is placed in the Library of the House each month which includes a breakdown of awards made by region. Some 100 projects in the north-west region have so far been awarded almost £18 million. I shall ask the Director General of the National Lottery to write to you about the sale of national lottery tickets.

To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage what proposals there are to change the competition arrangements and the good causes allocation of the national lottery. [35921]

Mrs. Bottomley

The lottery is making a tremendous contribution to the good causes agreed by Parliament. I have no plans to propose changes to these arrangements.

To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage if she will list all recipients of lottery funding over 50,000. [35923]

Mr. Sproat

A report on the distribution of national lottery proceeds is placed in the Library of the House each month which lists awards made. To date, 620 of 1,405 awards made have been for more than £50,000.

Mr. Spring

To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage when further details will be available regarding the financing of sport from national lottery funds. [35918]

Mr. Sproat

The Sports Council will announce the next set of awards in the first week of November.

To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage if she will take steps to arrange that Camelot be required to give details of national lottery ticket sales at each outlet; and if she will make a statement. [36416]

Mr. Sproat

This is an operational matter for Camelot Group plc. I have therefore asked the Director General of the National Lottery, who is responsible for regulating the operation of the lottery, to write to my hon. Friend, placing copies of his response in the Library of the House.

17. Mr. Rendel

To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage what plans she has to provide additional funding for public sports facilities. [35915]

Mr. Sproat

It is for local authorities and other suppliers of public sports facilities to determine their level of expenditure on sporting provision, in the light of their own priorities. The Department recognises the important role that both local authorities and the other suppliers of public sports facilities play in this area and the Sports Council will continue to work closely with them, as appropriate, in pursuing its objectives.
