§ Mr. SoamesTenders for the provision of primary, community and secondary health care to the Army and community and secondary health care to the RAF in Germany for five years from 1 April 1996 were submitted by three potential providers:
- a. The Health Alliance—an in-house bid in partnerships with a consortium headed by Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital NHS Trust and including the Soldiers, Sailors and Airmens Families Association.
- b. BMI Health Care in Association with Bradford Community Health NHS Trust.
35 - c. Synapse—a consortium including Trafford NHS Trust, Lakeview Learning and Independent British Health Care.
BMI Healthcare and Lakeview Learning were the only private sector organisations involved.
