To ask the Deputy Prime Minister what role the Cabinet Office will play in enhancing the competitiveness of United Kingdom industry during the next 12 months. [35895]

The Cabinet Office takes forward the competitiveness agenda within Government and with industry. The Deputy Prime Minister regularly discusses competitiveness issues with Cabinet colleagues in the ED(C) Committee, and maintains a close dialogue with business. We will produce a third report on national competitiveness next year.
