To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will remove public schools from the provisions of the Children Act 1989. [36556]

§ Mr. Bowis
The Children Act covers the welfare of children in England and Wales wherever they are. There are no plans to amend its provisions to exclude the welfare of children in independent boarding schools.
