HC Deb 29 November 1995 vol 267 cc717-8W
Mrs. Anne Campbell

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment what percentage of(a) primary and (b) secondary school children perform two or more years below their chronological age in (i) English and (ii) maths. [2992]

Mr. Robin Squire

This information is not collected by the Department. The table shows for 1994 the proportion of pupils in England at the end of key stages 1 and 3 reaching the expected national curriculum level of their age group. Figures for 1995, which for the first time will show the results of pupils at the end of key stages 1, 2 and 3, should be available in the new year, and will be placed in the Library.
