HC Deb 28 November 1995 vol 267 cc523-4W
Mr. Steen

To ask the Secretary of State for National Heritage how many statutory instruments her Department sponsored in the last Session of Parliament; and how many of these(a) constituted a new rule or regulation, (b) were introduced to implement European Community directives and (c) amplify the minimum standards set out in an original European Community directive. [2460]

Mr. Sproat

My Department sponsored 12 statutory instruments in the last Session of Parliament. Two of these are new regulations—the Open Spaces: Hyde Park and Regent's Park (Vehicle Parking) Regulations 1995, controlling parking in the royal parks, and the Football Spectators Seating Order 1995 extending the regulations affecting seating at football grounds. None of the statutory instruments was introduced to implement European Community directives, and none amplifies the minimum standards set out in an original European Community directive.
