HC Deb 28 November 1995 vol 267 cc563-4W
Mr. McAllion

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) what are the criteria used for selecting companies to be placed on the long list of contractors suitable for selection as network installers under the home energy efficiency scheme in Scotland; [2119]

(2) what was the value of work carried out under the home energy efficiency scheme by each network installer in Scotland in the latest year for which figures are available; [2120]

(3) who are the network installers used under the home energy efficiency scheme for each region in Scotland. [2132]

Mr. Clappison

All applicants for the long list are selected by competitive tender. Applicants are required to demonstrate their willingness and continuing ability to meet specified performance standards for grant work set by Eaga Ltd. and approved by my right hon. Friend. They are also required to carry out work sensitively with proper regard to the needs of clients; and to operate in accordance with Eaga's code of conduct.

The same criteria are applied in England and Wales.

Information about the value of work of individual installers is commercially confidential. A breakdown for 1994–95 by geographical area is shown in table 1. Table 2 shows the installers operating in each area.
