To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many complaints he has received from Northumberland about tactical low-flying sorties over the area in the past five years. [2723]

The number of complaints and inquiries about military low flying received by my Department from Northumberland over the past five years are as follows:

  • 1991: 111
  • 1992: 220
  • 1993: 180
  • 1994: 160
  • 1995: 1421
