§ Mr. Jonathan EvansTwo officials—the head of DTT's industrial relations division, and the head of Department for Education and Employment's European Communities branch—attended the inauguration of the European Centre for Industrial Relations.
As mentioned in the Commission's social action programme for 1995–97, the centre was established at the initiative of the social partners at European level. The Commission issued a communication about the centre to the Council, COM (95) 445 final, on 25 September 1995. This will be deposited in the Library of the House under the usual procedures for depositing EU documentation and I am arranging for a copy to be sent to the hon. Member.
