§ Mr. ForthAs the explanatory memorandum makes clear, there are no cost implications involved in these proposals; so no cost-benefit assessment was required.
The Deregulation Length of the School Day Order 1995 is intended to speed up alterations to school session times. Schools do not receive extra funds for having a longer day or reduced funds for having a shorter day. Any savings to schools and their governing bodies will be measured in time saved in implementing changes to the length of the school day.
