To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will list the titles of each of the unclassified technical papers known as Porton notes produced by the Chemical and Biological Defence Establishment Porton Down between 1965 and 1968. [1583]

Letter from John Chisholm to Mr. Ken Livingstone, dated 23 November 1995: Your Parliamentary Question to the Secretary of State for Defence asking if he will list the titles of the unclassified technical papers known as Porton Notes produced by the Chemical and Biological Defence Establishment, Porton Down between 1965 and 1968 has been passed to me to reply as the Chief Executive of the Defence Evaluation and Research Agency which includes CBDE as one of its divisions. I have listed below the titles of each of the unclassified technical papers known as Potion Notes produced by the Chemical Defence Experimental Establishment, a fore-runner of CBDE, between 1965 and 1968.

In my letter to you of the 26 July I said that 57 of the Porton Notes were unclassified. Whilst compiling this list it was discovered that the original Library listing contained duplicate entries for Potion Notes 383 and 393. This is why the above list only includes 55 titles. I am sorry about this.I hope this information is helpful.
