§ Mr. PageThe statutory obligations on public electricity suppliers to maintain their service equipment in consumers' premises are set out in the Electricity Supply Regulations 1988, as amended.
202WThese regulations are administered and enforced by the engineering inspectorate in the Department of Trade and Industry. The inspectorate monitors all incidents and accidents which must be reported to the Secretary of State under regulation 34 of these regulations.
The inspectorate carries out inspections of suppliers' woks including those located on consumer's premises under section 30(2) of the Electricity Act 1989 and regulation 33 of the regulations.
