HC Deb 22 November 1995 vol 267 cc205-6W
Sir Michael Grylls

To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will list the deregulation measures agreed by his Department during the current year. [286]

Mr. Lang

Deregulation encompasses a wide range of activities to minimise burdens on business, including not only amendment and repeal of burdensome regulation but also scrutinising new regulations and encouraging business-friendly enforcement practices. Significant measures agreed by my Department this year can be found in "Deregulation: the Way Forward", presented by my right hon. Friend the President of the Board of Trade, 22 May 1995, and the Government response to the first annual report of the deregulation task force, September 1995. Both publications are available in the Library of the House.
