HL Deb 21 November 1995 vol 567 cc5-6WA
Lord Stoddart of Swindon

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will ensure that any improvement scheme for the A.303 at Stonehenge recognises the importance of travellers on that road continuing to be able to see the monument as they pass by.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Transport (Viscount Goschen):

This is one of the many issues which were considered at the recent planning conference. It would be premature to reach any conclusion before we have received and considered the chairman's report of the conference.
