§ Mr. RedmondTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will supply to the hon. Member for Don Valley copies of all the annual reports of the prison board of visitors in respect of Doncaster prison. [63]
§ Miss WiddecombeThe board of visitors appointed to Doncaster prison started its term of office in June 1994 when the prison was first opened. As annual reports are submitted after the end of the year to which the report refers, the board has therefore submitted only one annual report, for 1994. Its annual report for 1995 will not be due until spring 1996.
Boards of visitors annual reports are not published documents. They are made to the Secretary of State who permits the board, if it wishes, to publish its report. In this case, the board has chosen not to publish. Instead it issued a press notice, a copy of which will be sent to the hon. Member.
