HC Deb 08 November 1995 vol 265 cc1004-5W
Mr. Morgan

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what is his latest forecast outturn for regional selective assistance offers and expenditure in Scotland in 1995–96 and its relationship to planned expenditure. [41782]

Mr. Kynoch

[holding answer 6 November 1995]: The latest estimate of total value of regional selective assistance offers accepted by businesses in Scotland during the first seven months of 1995–96 is £36.3 million. The original voted expenditure for the year was £82.450 million including estimated receipts of £2 million—but—subject to parliamentary approval of a supplementary estimate, a further £3.425 million will be made available to meet anticipated additional demand in-year. Grant is paid in instalments against progress on projects, typically over a period of three to five years, so much of the grant offered in 1995–96 will not fall to be paid until later years.
