HC Deb 08 November 1995 vol 265 c873W
Mr. Redmond

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will list the public appointments for which his Department is responsible in the county of south Yorkshire, indicating in each case the duration of the appointment, the date when a new appointment is due, and the salary. [39427]

Mr. Douglas Hogg

I was responsible for the appointment of a chairman and three members to the Yorkshire Regional Flood Defence Committee of the National Rivers Authority, a committee which covers a large proportion of south Yorkshire. These appointments are for three years and new ministerial appointments will be made on 1 July 1997. Other members are appointed by local authorities and the National Rivers Authority. Existing appointments will continue when the Environment Agency subsumes the National Rivers Authority next year. The chairman receives a salary of £9,715 per annum. Members receive expenses.
