To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many consultants there were in(a) urology, (b) ear, nose and throat, (c) paediatrics, (d) ophthalmology and (e) anaesthetics for the years (i) 1990 and (ii) 1994–95 in each hospital in Scotland. [41697]

The information is shown at Scotland level in the table. Data are not collected centrally on consultants' sessional commitments to hospitals; the finest organisational breakdown available centrally being by health board for 1990 and by NHS trust and directly managed units for 1994.
