HC Deb 07 November 1995 vol 265 cc725-6W
Mr. Nigel Griffiths

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the cost of tax relief on private medical insurance for those over 60 years who are non-taxpayers. [39093]

Mr. Jack

Relief is given to all individuals, whether taxpayers or not, who pay qualifying private medical insurance premiums for those aged 60 or over. The cost of giving relief to non-taxpayers is estimated to be £3 million in 1995–96.
