To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how the Government's recent proposals for the overseas aid budget will affect those programmes aimed at helping women in the developing world to which the Government committed itself at the UN women's conference in Beijing. [39939]

Programmes aimed at helping women in the developing world will continue to be an important priority for ODA. Future spending plans are currently under discussion.
