To ask the right hon. Member for Berwick-upon-Tweed, representing the House of Commons Commission, what proportion of those employed in domestic service in the House are from ethnic minority backgrounds. [39943]

Ethnic monitoring of staff employed by the Commission has been in place since 1988. This is carried out on a voluntary basis and not all staff choose to respond to the ethnic monitoring questionnaire. The current figures for staff in the respective ethnic groupings are as follows:
