To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many people are employed by the Forestry Commission on(a) a part-time and (b) a full-time basis in (i) Scotland, (ii) England, (iii) Wales and (iv) Northern Ireland. [40670]

[holding answer 1 November 1995]: The number of people employed by the Forestry Commission is:

These figures do not include contractors working in Forestry Commission forests.

The Forestry Commission does not operate in Northern Ireland.
