Responsibility for this matter has been delegated to the temporary Director General of the Prison Service, who has been asked to arrange for a reply to be given.

Letter from Richard Tilt to Mr. Martin Redmond, dated 2 November 1995: The Home Secretary has asked me to reply to your recent Question about the number of disturbances that have occurred since Doncaster prison was opened. Doncaster prison was opened on 20 June 1994 and from that date until 30 September 1995, a total of 48 incidents of concerted indiscipline were reported to Prison Service headquarters.
