HC Deb 24 May 1995 vol 260 cc636-7W
Mr. McMaster

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland when he next plans to meet representatives of the Advisory Committee on the Misuse of Drugs to discuss the rescheduling of Temazepam; and if he will make a statement. [24119]

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

My right hon. Friend has no plans for such a meeting. The reply that my right hon. Friend the Lord President of the Council gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Ayr (Mr. Gallie) on 10 May,Official Report, column 756, described the immediate steps being taken to reduce the misuse of Temazepam and confirmed that careful consideration is being given to the advisory council's recommendation on rescheduling the drug.
