HC Deb 24 May 1995 vol 260 cc613-5W
Mr. Streeter

To ask the Secretary of State for Education if she will show for each local education authority for the year 1995–96 the element of the potential schools budget which is not delegated to schools through the aggregated schools budget, expressed(a) as a percentage of the potential schools budget and (b) as a sum of money per pupil in schools covered by the LMS scheme. [25037]

Mr. Robin Squire

The percentage of the potential schools budget not delegated to schools in 1995–96 through the aggregated schools budget is shown for each local education authority in the following table, which is derived from the percentages shown as delegated in the LMS budget statements for 1995–96 published by local education authorities under section 42 of the Education Reform Act.

The Department is not yet in a position to provide the information requested at (b). I will write to my hon. Friend when these figures are available later in the year.
