To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether he is yet in a position to respond to the recommendations on abortion law in Northern Ireland made by the Standing Advisory Commission on Human Rights. [24870]

The Secretary of State wrote to the chairman of the commission on 10 May indicating that he does not propose to suggest any changes in the law at present. A copy of the Secretary of State's letter has been placed in the Library.
