To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what percentage of graduates was unemployed one year after leaving higher education(a) currently (b) in 1979. [25020]

The latest available estimates for Great Britain from the spring 1994 labour force survey show that 16.6 per cent. of graduates of working age who were not full-time students when interviewed, but were full-time students one year prior to interview were ILO unemployed. There is no information for 1979.
