HC Deb 23 May 1995 vol 260 c554W
Mr. Barry Jones

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will make a statement on the working so far of care in the community in Wales. [25164]

Mr. Richards

Local authorities in Wales have made generally good progress since April 1993 with community care. The Welsh Office departmental report, Cm2815, records that in the first year of the new arrangements local authorities assessed over 50,000 people for community care services and over 28,000 were provided with care to help them stay in their own homes.
