HC Deb 22 May 1995 vol 260 cc409-10W
Dr. Goodson-Wickes

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what consultations she has had over Government liaison with the World Health Organisation. [23926]

Mr. Malone

The Department of Health has lead responsibility for World Health Organisation matters. Departmental officials are in regular and frequent contact with officials at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Overseas Development Administration throughout the year and particularly in the build-up to meetings of the WHO executive board and the World Health Assembly. These contacts cover the whole range of issues relating to the United Kingdom's input to WHO, including budgetary and programme matters.
