HC Deb 22 May 1995 vol 260 c406W
Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Health for what reasons Sir Duncan Nichol was made redundant. [24440]

Mr. Sackville

Sir Duncan Nichol had been seconded to the national health service executive by Mersey regional health authority. At the termination of the secondment arrangement, he was unable to return to his contracted post in Mersey RHA because, through restructuring, it was no longer available. Since there was no alternative employment available to Sir Duncan, the health authority declared him redundant.
