HC Deb 22 May 1995 vol 260 c465W
Mr. Hardy

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the total of the sums paid or which are due to be paid to financial institutions or companies in respect of their services or advice in regard to those privatisations which have been completed or partially completed since 1979 or which are in preparation or under consideration at this time; and what payments have been or are expected to be paid to the seven businesses or institutions which have received the largest share of these payments. [24200]

Sir George Young

For the sale costs of privatisations that have been completed, I refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave at 27 April 1995,Official Report, column 646. Details of disaggregated costs can be found in my replies of 23 March 1995, Official Report, column 287, and 16 May 1995, Official Report, column 108. Sale costs for those privatisations that have yet to be completed will be announced in the normal manner following the completion of each sale. Details of the firms which have been the seven largest recipients of privatisation sale fees are not held centrally and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.

Mr. Milburn
