§ Dr. MawhinneyWe are already consulting interested parties, and have been since the IMO's panel of experts was set up, through a shadow panel organised by the Marine Safety Agency. The shadow panel includes representatives from the Chamber of Shipping, major UK ferry operators, the Consumers Association and trade unions.
Further consultation will be carried out once we have fully considered the reaction of the IMO's maritime safety committee to the work of the panel of experts.
