To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security how many people received assistance with mortgage interest payments in each year since 1990; and what is the current average level of assistance, by standard economic region. [23028]

This shows the numbers of cases and average amount of mortgage interest considered in the assessment of each year since 1990, broken down by region and whether half or full mortgage interest was in payment at the time of the inquiry.
