HC Deb 16 May 1995 vol 260 cc160-1W
Mr. McCartney

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what information has been gathered through surveys and on the basis of notified redundancies on how many jobs have been lost and created, together with their pay rates, in the regions of the United Kingdom in the last quarter. [21797]

Mr. Oppenheim

[holding answer 1 May 1995]: The labour force survey is the Department's main source of information on the number of redundancies. The latest regional figures from the LFS on redundancies and the net change of numbers in employment are given in the following table. There is no information available on the pay rates of jobs lost and created. Figures for Northern Ireland are only available for the spring quarter of each year.
