To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how many foreign HGVs were(a) stopped for safety checks, (b) found defective and (c) not permitted to continue in each of the last three years. [24039]

The number of foreign HGVs inspected at the roadside and prohibited from use because of defects likely to cause danger of injury is as follows:
