Letter from R. M. Bradley to Mr. Paul Flynn, dated 16 May 1995:
The Secretary of State has asked me to reply to your recent Parliamentary Question about the evacuation of various categories of passengers from roll-on-roll-off ferries. There is no specific reference in the Solas 90 standard as to what percentage of passengers may fall into any of the categories listed in your question. However, minimum training requirements for personnel nominated to assist passengers in emergency situations have been established and are promulgated by way of a Merchant Shipping Notice.
