HC Deb 15 May 1995 vol 260 c32W
Ms Rachel Squire

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement on public access to ownership of water reservoirs in Northern Ireland, with particular reference to the Annalong reservoir. [23153]

Mr. Moss

Ownership of reservoirs used for public water supply purposes is vested in the Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland. Access is granted for specific recreational purposes such as angling, or for general recreation dependent upon consideration of safety, water quality and the nature of the environment. There is no Annalong reservoir. The nearest reservoir is at the Silent valley and the public enjoy full access there. There are no plans to alter these arrangements.
