HC Deb 11 May 1995 vol 259 cc555-6W
Mr. Mike O'Brien

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what are his estimates for the cost of training needed to enable the police in England and Wales to be fully aware of the provisions of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994; and what funding has been made available to police authorities for such training. [23050]

Mr. Maclean

The extent to which police officers need to be trained in relation to the provisions of this Act is a matter for individual chief officers to determine. Centrally produced training material has been made available, free of charge, to all forces; the costs of delivering any training considered necessary will be met from existing police budgets.
