§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonThe information on administrative costs and pupil numbers is given in the following table for 1993–94, the latest available year. Details of numbers of staff employed by each education authority are not held centrally. However the "Joint Staffing Watch" records that, at September 1993. Scottish education authorities employed a total of 53,212, full-time equivalent, teachers and lecturers and 25,651, full-time equivalent, other staff, including non-teaching staff in schools and administrative staff.
