§ Sir Hector MonroMycobacterium paratuberculosis, the causative agent in Johne's disease, has been isolated from wild rabbits in the Perth-Angus area. It is not known whether this is the same strain of bacteria which causes disease in cattle and sheep and further research is being carried out.
