§ Mr. PaiceIt is estimated that British employers currently spend over £20,000 million a year on training and developing their employees. The total amount of European social fund spent on training in Great Britain in the 1993 calendar year was £580 million. Responsibility for training matters in Northern Ireland lies with my right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland.
